Lauren and her mummy have had some fantastic raffle tickets printed and we have teamed up and gathered some FANTASTIC prizes which include a LCD TV, Steam Iron Unit, Champagne, Whiskey plus many more....

The draw will take by at the Muppet Christmas Carol on Saturday 22nd December at the Playhouse 2 by the one and only Father Christmas. Prize winners do not have to be in attendance - we have the contact details on the tickets and the prizes will be delivery personally.

If you would like to have some tickets to sell and keep 50% of sales then let us know and tell us how many ticket you would like to sell - we will get a batch of tickets to you.

Renovating it is going to be a long term project, going well into 2013.

Euro 2012 Prediction Competition in aid of Ecuador

Are you an armchair pundit that knows more than the experts?

Would you like to add extra interest to the Euro 2012 matches?

Would you like a chance to win some money?

Would you like to help raise funds for a worthy cause?


If so, then this is the perfect competition for you. I am running a Euro 2012 predictions competition and attached is the simple entry forms and rules. To enter the competition simply complete the entry form and  hand it into finance office with the £5 entry fee .

The prize money will be 40% of all the entry fees received and the other 60% will go towards the Ecuador trip which is helping a group of students, including myself, go to Ecuador to help the local community, wildlife and environment. There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize.

The closing date for entry forms to be received is Thursday 7th June so get your entry in soon.

The competition is open to parents, children and anyone else you know so feel free to pass the forms to anyone you feel may be interested.

CROMPTON HOUSE SUMMER FAIR – SATURDAY 7TH JULY 11am – 2pm

Ecuador Expedition 2013 students, parents and teachers are organising Crompton House Summer Fair on Saturday 7^th July 11am – 2pm to raise funds. The car wash will run as normal from 9am.

RAFFLE PRIZE draw: We are arranging a big raffle prize draw and would appreciate any donations you can make whether it is a free manicure, haircut or boiler service! If you are able to help us out please contact checuador2013@gmail.com giving your full details and one of the team will call you back. Tickets will be sent home after half term to sell to families, neighbours and friends.

PROGRAMME: We are putting together a programme which will have all the information on for the fair and will be given to everyone who comes in – a great advertising opportunity for your business! If you are interested in advertising in the programme please contact us on checuador2013@gmail.com giving your full details and what you require.

The cost will be £25 for a full A5 sheet size advert, £15 for half a page, £10 quarter page. All adverts should be sent to the above email and payment sent to Mr T Ashworth  in school. Cheques should be made payable to Crompton House School.

CAR BOOT SALE: We are also having a car boot sale on the day of the fair in the school grounds on the all weather pitch at a cost of £8 per car/£10 per van/car&trailer. Enquiries or to register your interest please email checuador2013@gmail.com 

DONATIONS: We would also like to ask for donations of various items for our stalls - tombola items, gift items, bottles, chocolate/sweets, books, bric-a-brac, jewellery etc so please bear this in mind ready to bring in during June.

Queen's Diamond Jubilee Big Lunch Celebration

Sunday, 3rd June from 12 noon until 3pm

The Big Lunch is a 'Bring & Share' event, so you are invited to bring along some food for sharing. 

Everyone is welcome and the event will include a photographic competition in which there are 4 categories LOCAL NATURE, PEOPLE, PLACES & JUBILEE. These will be judged in age groups 8-16 years and 17years and above. There will be a Homemade Cake competition and a Children's Fancy Dress competition. 

Oldham Brass Band (Lees) will be entertaining us and also              Ellie Knott our local talented flautist (1.30pm - 3pm). The local shops in Lees will be trimming up and it should be a real party atmosphere.

Ben Jakeman's selling "Wish Lists"

Ben is selling " Wish Lists" and some other prints... Very similar to those found on " notonthehighstreet.com" but not at those prices.... He's doing the print A4 size for £5 and you can either frame them yourselves, or he'll frame them and add on the cost of the frame.... He can go down to A5 size.

They make unique and fantastic gifts, so please let us know if you'd like one.

Charlie Smith's next Fundraiser - featuring Louby Lou

If any of the young people who have had 'Face painting' training would like to come along to Charlie's 'Great Big British Teddy Bears' Picnic' and add to their funds by face painting Union Jacks; teddies; red, white and blues hearts/stars etc in keeping with the theme, they will be most welcome! CAR WASH FOR ECUADOR

There will be NO car washing this Saturday Bank Holiday Weekend as school is closed.

CAR WASH for Ecuador

From this Saturday pupils and parents will be washing cars at school to raise funds for their expedition to Ecuador in 2013.

It will be a jet wash, shampoo and rinse and will be next to the D&T block just off the main road.
They will be there from 9am until 12noon each Saturday.

Please bring your dirty cars and help support the pupils in their fund raising, and let friends and family know about it too.

Donations - How can you help?

Donations of items:

Various students and the group are collecting various items to help raise funds:

Ben Foster  is collecting books and old clothes/bedding/towels/shoes/belts/bags/curtains.  They are able to collect items from peoples' homes or school.

Lorna Barry is collecting jewellery & costume jewellery (old and new including broken and single items) for recycling and selling, hair accessories, printer ink cartridges, unused parts of gift sets, make-up sets and scarves (summer & winter)

Jacob Clark  is collecting old mobile phones and old coins, including foreign coins

Sarah Wilson  is collecting unwanted CDs & DVDs

Ellie Knott is asking for donations of chocolate/boxes of chocolate/sweets for her concert raffle

Holly Lord is collecting unwanted/used/unused candles

School:

Ebay - Do you have any items of value you are considering throwing out or giving away? Please send them to school to sell on Ebay to raise funds. If the item is large we can sell it using photos and arrange for it to be collected from your home.

Raffle Prizes - Do you have any unwanted gifts which you would be willing to donate  to use as raffle prizes? If you have please send them in to Mr Ashworth. All donations of raffle prizes should be given to Mr Ashworth so he can distribute as and when they are needed. Thank you.

Just to let everyone know this weekend is "FREE LISTING" on Ebay if anyone has anything to sell.

Face Painting - Wednesday 14th March 3.45pm

Lorna has booked a face painting workshop for those young people who want to learn a new skill

The tutor for the session is Sue Palfrey from Oldham Integrated Youth Services

The session is 3.45pm to 5.00pm ish on Wednesday 14th March in the 6th Form Centre

Sue is going to teach us how to paint Lions on each others faces at this session (to start with)

It should be a fun session, and a great photo opportunity for our newsletter and our website!

If you want to join in the session then just turn up and be prepared to be transformed into another creature!

If you have any face paints and brushes can you bring them along too please and some make up wipes.

If  you do any shopping on line you can earn funds for Crompton House Ecuador Expedition trip by simply going to the website you want via the easyfundraising site, and the Company you are buying from will donate a percentage of the amount you spend to your our fund; shop with over 2000 well known retailers like Amazon, Argos, M&S, eBay and many more. The percentage varies from 1 company to another; e.g. Argos is .75% and Amazon is 2.5% so if lots of us do this it can make quite a difference to our fundraising.

Just go to www.easyfundraising.org.uk, select register and complete the process selecting your cause “Crompton House School Shaw Oldham - Ecuador Trip”

Camps International Workshop

Holly from Camps International is coming to our next meeting on Tuesday 13th March 5.30pm

Holly works on the Fundraising Support Team along with colleague Hattie Shepherd. Their primary role is to support students with their fundraising for their expeditions.

Theyw ill be coming to run a Fundraising Workshop with all students,  parents and teachers. This meeting will allow them to discuss new ideas and potential fundraising events and identify any students who may be struggling so we can offer more specific advice and guidance on how they can get back on track.

It's also a good opportunity for them to chat with parents/carers about how we can best support our children with their fundraising in a non-financial way e.g.helping them write sponsorship letters, using their contacts, assisting with the planning.

So please come along to the workshop on Tuesday 13th March 5.30pm
